Happy Bank Holiday Monday everybody. Think of me while you're relaxing on your last day of the long weekend - I'll be working, In Tesco. Stupid overtime. Ever wondered what the hell I'm on about? I do sometimes... But this is all about Mornington Crescent, a round in the BBC Radio 4 gameshow I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, hosted by the famous Jazz trumpeter Humphrey Lyttleton... The whole thing is awesome, check it out on the BBC web site via Listen Again or whatnot. There's also a big ISIHAC subsection to the BBC comedy section... Recommended listening. This is a web site which continues Mornington Crescent, and develops the rules into something at least remotely not-entirely-nonsensical - and has info and references to other ISIHAC resources. A great read if you're ever bored... Mornington Nomic I can't recommend enough that you listen to one of the shows though. It all makes sense once you listen. :) Dragged out of Christopher's memory and pasted into his blog at 5/29/2004 05:17:00 PM. Roughly. Blog ID: 108403718415797212 | Permalink Thursday, May 6 Cor blimey, it's been a long week. This week I've:
Remind me to do more of that little something called sleep... Oh, and I cannot recommend enough Volume 1 and Volume 2. To enjoy these films properly, one must watch them one after the other straight away with as little a gap as possible - all this was made possible for me by using the Internet :) as I missed Vol. 1 when it came out at the cinemas, and I probably won't be able to make it to the cinema for Vol. 2 (being skint teenager I am) - it's a crying shame that Tarantino wasn't allowed to release both films as one 4 hour masterpiece, as he originally wished for it to be. Ah well. I also loved to death the third and final (for now?) film in the Matrix trilogy, Matrix Revolutions - it's an awesome film, with truly stunning effects and a raft of solid performances from all the actors and cast. A real pity that the original actress who played the Oracle in films 1 and 2, sadly died before production of the third movie. Although the new actress, Mary Alice, puts in a very convincing performance, and the story being slightly altered to make sense of the sudden change of person, the original actress, Gloria Foster, is still to me The Oracle. Diabetes claimed her life on September the 21st, 2001 - a real shame. But enough of films and dead actresses, let us move on. Have a good rest-of-week and whatnot, I'm off to sleep. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm come hither my precious duvet... Dragged out of Christopher's memory and pasted into his blog at 5/06/2004 01:30:09 AM. Roughly. Blog ID: 108380700924654795 | Permalink Some links!
