Copyright Criminals™ This is quite an interesting (archive.org-hosted!) short montage-style documentary about sampling, featuring many artists from the various scenes who utilise sampling on a daily basis. It presents a strong argument FOR free sampling, but then again, why not - Copyright laws for music are incredibly outmoded and outdated, and it's about time somebody overhauled them. If you head to the RareWares site at the moment using the IE browser, you get a fake Windows XP SP2-style Warning bar slide out from the top of the screen. Clicking on it (and it does look realistic) takes you to BrowseHappy.com... I liked this advertising method so much, I thought I'd promote it (and besides that, it is further promoting Firefox/other browsers to the Web crowd, so it's all good). Promotional graphics ? Everyone's having a nice time buying (100% LEGALLY) their music and video and such and such, using this very handy VAT loophole (out-law.com), and now some FCUKING company has to go and whinge about it, and probably kickstart the chain of events that'll lead to this loophole being closed. Way to go, that means play.com is effectively out of business if this loophole is subsequently rendered illegal - and guess where I buy ALL of my DVDs from. :/ Dragged out of Christopher's memory and pasted into his blog at 2/06/2005 03:52:03 AM. A newspaper clipping of the Infinitus.co.uk Web Design-that-was, way back at the end of 2001, when we came 2nd place in the Tesco Computers For Schools Awards. Ironic to think that I'm now working for Tesco... And I'm sure it was my Dad who gave the Marketing Director (who was there) the idea of offering Air Miles; at the time Sainsbury's was only offering Air Miles on purchases. Look at Tesco now. =/ Anyway, here's the newspaper cuttong.
